On June 8th, 2022 I woke up to an email that I had changed my email on my Facebook, and an email saying I changed my phone number, also an email saying I changed my password! All of these emails were in the same 2 min. time stamp. I quickly clicked on the link if you didn’t do this click here.
I quickly go to Facebook help to secure my account. We can not verify your identity!! What!! So, the nightmare of “The metaverse black hole toilet FLUSH” begins. I truly feel your pain, if you are in the FB”helpless” circle!
I started my Facebook in 2007, my late husband and I met on Myspace and then Facebook came and we began our pages and our digital life. 16 years!!! I have never been hacked, nor had but the ONE Facebook! My baby was so sweet with good morning messages of the silly kind, love songs, and silly videos; our friends were nauseated from the sweetness. All our Live videos, photos, holidays, and memorial folders with contributions, client pages, my business page, my grief support group, MY counselor, and my “women empowerment group page”. 16 years of LIFE hacked and locked from me in an instant!! I literally was/am so distraught I haven’t slept. The thought of my link to my husband’s page; the videos saved from his page. the Loss I felt brought back the same gut-punch I felt after losing him!
I had never been hacked before so, after 7-10 emails with irrevocable identification i.e DL, passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate, Social security card, 2 pieces of mail, Voter ID card. Social security card and social security transcript. I am NOT exaggerating any of this. NOT ONE piece of ID worked Facebook help bot REJECTED every single time! 37 emails and IM to FB/Meta with ZERO help! BEGGING and pleading for assistance.

I do. BUT, I don’t have a Facebook anymore. bc, it was hacked, locked, and stolen. 16 years of my life, and my husband, who passed. The last link I had to him. Our photos, videos, and sweet messages. My therapist and grief group. 37 emails and 21 days of begging Meta and Facebook to restore my account that is linked to my oculus and Instagram!!! You can’t verify my identity I sent my birth certificate, driver’s license, voter registration, passport, social security, insurance card, 2 pieces of mail, and marriage certificate. My location has NOT CHANGED, BUT my IP address did; from a Lifetime in FLORIDA to Nimbia!!!! Really!!! So, I have written an article and I plan to advertise as much as I can the security breach that you, META, FB, and IG definitely have. The fact that someone is impersonating Meta tech support and Facebook will NOT RESPOND. Be careful people. Telegram has @officialmetasupport. 21 days of desperation and zero response. A Meta employee from LinkedIn gives you a link; you tend to believe them. I am heartbroken. I am agoraphobic and Facebook was my lifeline to my mental health professional and grief group. My connection to the outside world. I begged and pleaded for help and was ignored. I have everything documented and an article to the press. No way I can live this life and do my job without Facebook. I am in PR, Influencer, and Social media. I have NOT had income for 3 weeks bc I can’t do my job. I’m falling behind and digressing by the minute. I have nothing left. My last link to my dead husband, I can’t imagine having a new Facebook after 16 years and his popping up in “people I may know”, and all my friends able to look at memories and post “miss you” messages. This is hell, and I don’t want to be in it! Peace.
So, I hit up the interwebs for advice, I find an article that people with disabled/hacked/old facebook had gotten clever, and are buying a 300$ Oculus to regain access to their old accounts. GET THIS. returning them and WOW they have access.
AH HA! Guess what; I have an Oculus already, so easy peasy that’s my in. NOT SO MUCH!!! Go to META HELL and click on help with Facebook login, Hacked? Yes. Wha-lah…. INSTANT MESSENGER. I am speaking in real-time to an employee of Facebook. FYI. Meta, Facebook, and Instagram are all one and the same; METAVERSE company!!! oh, by the way, all three of my accounts FB, IG, and Occulus are linked. Meta hypes me up and guarantees (yep guarantee) they will have me fixed up in no time. 30-40 mins later “I am sorry but we are Hardware support only; here’s a link to Facebook help!! Oh my Lord, this went on for about 10-12 days. NOT ONE response from Facebook or the Metaverse! So, my mind went to the business advantage and I thought surely they have LinkedIn so. I shortened my sad story and sent it to as many Metaverse, FB, and IG employees as possible. YAY, a Meta employee sends me a link to telegram META I.T. support!! hallelujah! I am speaking to a live person and after 15-20 mins I’m on chat and he sends me a pic with the comment “account fully recovered”, but I need to authenticate my Identification. this was an external link from Linkedin; so, that made sense and I began to authenticate my Identity.
After sending several forms of ID the I.T. person kept prodding me for more information and then asked for my social security number; My stomach fell to the floor!
NO, this can’t be happening so, I hop on Meta help, and quickly asked if they had telegram as an external I.M. link; I mean at this point with ZERO communication from Facebook, I thought it made sense. I did google Meta/telegram/scam nothing came up before I even started just to ease my mind. So, I started screenshotting everything and sending it to Meta. I mean this is copywriting infringement now. I have still gotten zero responses from a human. I even posted a paid ad on my IG just to see the outrage. It was approved and live, but the traffic was so nominal I am one hundred percent certain there were internal filters.
I had posted just a screenshot the week before in outrage and was bombarded with “hackers” willing to hack my account back for me. I stood on my laurels and patiently waited for Facebook to swoop in and save the day and DO THEIR JOB!

After, 21 days to NO AVAIL. I break and as I sit here writing this article I reach out to someone to try and get access to the recovery link to save my DIGITAL life! YEP, I PAID! so it’s now almost midnight of the 22nd day, and I’m still locked out of my life, apps, and websites. BEWARE, the easy link to sign-up with Facebook; DON’T! I am locked out of them too!!
So, in summation Facebook, you need tighter security protocol, No one needs to change their EMAIL, PASSWORD, and PHONE number in a matter of a few minutes. FLAG! Maybe, there should be some extra security measures to make sure that they are in FACT the owner, and are the ones changing delicate information. I OWN THIS security application idea, I propose that if more than one delicate lock-out feature is changed; require them to authenticate their identity then not after changes are made and FB computer bot can NO LONGER digitally match their identity to a HACKED ACCOUNT, perhaps it was done in the middle of the night or when someone is unavailable to respond to the email before It’s ALL SAID AND DONE! One digit change of birthdate, and poof you are NO longer who you say you are. Sometimes the human eye is better. A bot can not feel!!! DO better Facebook, I am not the only one!!
