https://robinhood.com/us/en/ defrauded me of every dime I had. Robinhood has no incoming phone line; you have to go into the app and request a call so there is no mistake it is them calling. When the phone call comes from the number you are told to watch for from their help desk. When the Representative called I even went to the website to verify the number. As a person with IT support knowledge when he told me he could correct the error he said he would have to do it from the originating IP address; it still didn’t alert me. I use “logmein123” often. Anyway, he logged in and started working it was late, and by then I had waited hours and hours for someone to answer the IM which is the only safe, and ONLY way to contact them. No incoming calls; just a way to request a callback; anyway he said he would call me back in the morning and he clicked and did whatever and said once everything was corrected he would call me back. I asked him if everything would go back to before the error and he said yes.
I never heard from him again this was Dec 19th.
Obviously, I began to send messages every hour hoping someone would answer me. Finally, I went into the help part of the website, and Robinhood states it is the only way to speak to someone, it said to go back through the IM of the Instant messenger click on accounts, and request a call back which is what I did, and how I spoke to the first guy. I spoke to someone and we talked about everything and she also said you know once they got everything situated everything will be put back the way it was and I explicitly mentioned they took 32,000 shares from me that I’ve been holding onto for two years that has the potential of over a 400% return in the next six months and they’re all gone.
This went on for six weeks; I had no money, and no way to get any money. Every single dime that I had left over after I paid bills and expenses I put in my investment; because I’ve been averaging this stock for years! In fact just two days before I transferred 1000$! I was looking forward to the forecast and seeing it finally jump up! The predictions were between 175% and 4k% increase. Regardless I was excited and I was willing to wait.
Anyway, no one responded for two days at all to the IM’s, and barely anybody talked to me at all they just left them unanswered. Then they would close the case and I would have to re-open it and tell them it wasn’t closed until resolved. I had to go back many times and say “I’m sorry you will not close the case number it is not resolved” Over and over. They would tell me that they were still working on it and would get back to me blah, blah, blah and this went on from December 19 until the day before yesterday. January 26th they emailed me; “Thank you for all the information and details but we have determined they were authorized transactions.” They wouldn’t do anything because I let the guy Into my computer! I expressed to them he called ME; from their safe number (which means from their office) I told them any bank that you talk to asks you the same security questions that he asked me, and I did not do anything wrong.
I definitely did not give him permission to sell 32,000 shares of stock, I Did NOT give him permission to buy Bitcoin, nor permission to liquidate my account, and I absolutely did NOT authorize him to send my money to another wallet.
He stole from me, bottom line and they are not taking responsibility and now I’m four days away from potential eviction because I haven’t paid any bills in two months because they took my direct deposit right when I got it. They have hundreds of people with the same thing.
If you go on https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/menlo-park/profile/financial-services/robinhood-1116-881958they have a 1.08% rating, they aren’t even accredited. I started doing research and they have so many grievances against them. https://www.reddit.com/r/ClassActionRobinHood/ has a page just for them; I cannot believe that this company is still functioning and trading with people every day.
This money was my life savings. I’ve used it to supplement my disability, and it’s managed to work, and now they’ve taken everything from me. I had no way to survive on just my disability anymore that was it. That was the only way I was going to be able to make it, and very recently I was diagnosed with Lupus SLE, and I’m very, very sick. I don’t know what I’m going to do, so I thought I would Speak out because I think that every Investor and potential investor needs to be told, and everyone needs to get away and STAY AWAY from Robinhood! You all need to know how scandalous they are, as you can see in the attachments and links to all the information I have collected.
Also, the only reason I transferred my portfolio to Robinhood was because it was highly recommended. They were in the top seven on two publications, so I trusted it and I’ll attach those as well. Even if I don’t recover anything or no one helps me; other people need to hear this because it is beyond devastating. Please read; if only to warn your friends and family if you hear them talking about investing with this corrupt company. Even if you do not invest, read this anyway!
I have been self-sufficient since I graduated high school at 15, I never have had to need anybody to take care of me. I used to say ignorant words like “Oh, no I’m broke” for the sole reason I didn’t want to hand out, buy another toy, or whatever repeat unnecessary nonsense it applied to. Things not needed; I would use those words meaninglessly, hollow it meant nothing to me! I used the word broke with no thought of what it really meant: if you have never really experienced it you don’t think of it other than a mindless excuse. Not until this happened; did I truly feel the heaviness and depth of the word; you just can’t know what the word “broke” means until your accounts are cleaned out.
Vystar, my local bank I have had since I was a teenager; closed my checking and savings account because someone had transferred money to another bank with one still pending. They pulled money out of there as well and transferred it into another bank. I saw some transactions I didn’t recognize and obviously had no idea what they were so I called, closing my accounts was the only option because my login and password were used! What?! To stop them from selling anything else and accessing my direct deposit again I have to open up new accounts. It’s been five weeks. Side note: Some of my Christmas presents also got canceled because they took the money and never got to clear, this has been going on since December 19.
It is a tragic, tragic situation and I couldn’t imagine how awful it must be to struggle with money until this. Until you go through something like this you don’t know what it’s like when a Mama tells her they can’t have something because they honestly don’t have the money; instead of just because they don’t wanna spend it. There’s a huge difference and until you are at that side it is an eye-opener! I don’t want this to ever happen to anybody else in our community in our county, our state, or this world for that matter!
Robinhood is a scamming company. That’s all it is.
Over the weekend I dwelled on this and it dawned on me; I can only assume when the employee from Robinhood was in my account he must have cloned my passwords. On Monday I had an alert from Stash, that my account was locked too! So, that is the only justifiable reasoning; they are slowly going through every money app and trying to get everything they can. They are ruthless and I’m very certain that scammers and thieves literally have zero compassion for the havoc and destruction they leave behind. I really believe they don’t believe it really is potentially everything we have.
That Robinhood employee is a liar and a thief, he assured me he was helping me. I spoke to a woman following up and explained what happened and asked about the insurance and she assured me it would. They have no way of contacting them immediately and that’s how they can get away with stealing all these people’s money. They email them their account is closed or restricted and most give up. When you read the comments on Reddit link, you’re gonna see it’s happening to people all over and no one‘s doing anything about it!
