Welcome to therapy! I have always been deeply passionate about music. It quiets the mind and mends broken hearts. It’s very much like love letters and poetry; it soothes the soul and quiets the mind.
Lyrics have always provided the greatest comfort for me. Even when my heart is broken in two, and I feel like I’ve lost it all. I have written whole songs in my journal, just needing to know every single word. It felt like every song I heard had a hidden message to answer whatever I was facing at the time. The words; that’s what I’ve always heard first. Most people dig the beat, or hear the melody, and that’s what draws them to the song. Not me though; I hear the message. I feel the love, I feel the pain, and the joy;. I hear The song of redemption, heartbreak, grief, hate, and revenge. Music provides comfort, it relays a message, and it can “Send” a message. It can start a love story, or summon a war. Living here in Jacksonville… I have been fortunate enough to meet and befriend some of the greatest story tellers aka Musicians in the world! All of that; to say this…

If your person sends you a song; really listen. My fiance and I conveyed our love to each other with lyrics. We also expressed other emotions with them. Those songs now hold so much more meaning. ]
